Our outreach clinic in the Palestinian city of Qalqilya
This poor horse had a nasty injury to his right eye. He had apparently only been recently bought from a horse dealer and we were told he already had the injury when he was bought and that he had hit his eye on some sharp metal object...
Our amazing volunteer vet, Dr Nour Kalabani, didn't hesitate to set about performing surgery there and then 'in the field' so to speak - to clean up the mess, remove the torn, infected layers and stitch it all to leave him looking and feeling comfortable and able to see properly again.
Our deepest thanks to Dr Nour for always being so capable and willing, we are so grateful to him and to our volunteer farrier and assistant, Khaled, and to the people of Qalqilya who always make us so welcome.
